What Client’s Say About Us

‘‘After almost 5 years of chronic pain that had resulted in an extremely low mood I discovered Karlene and Brain Mapz. Karlene’s neuro-feedback sessions have literally changed my life!! Prior to meeting Karlene I had tried everything to combat the pain and nothing had worked. The constant pain had subsequently put me into a very depressed state.

I completed about 12 sessions and I am in total awe of how the treatment works and the results that occur. I could feel a positive shift after only a couple of sessions and one of the best things is that it is drug free!! Thank you Karlene, you really have changed my life’’

‘‘I have lived with anxiety, depression and PTSD for many years, stemming from both childhood experiences and my military service. Although I have often appeared calm, capable and high functioning on the outside, internally I have struggled with constant overthinking, heightened reactivity and a persistent sense of feeling unsettled. At times, I also used alcohol as a way of self-medicating these symptoms.

Since working with Karlene, I have noticed a significant reduction in my chronic overthinking. I feel calmer, happier and much more connected to my life and to the present moment. I rarely have cravings for alcohol.  The changes have been meaningful and have had a positive impact on my overall wellbeing.
Karlene’s approach is warm, practical and non-judgmental. I felt supported throughout and would recommend her to others seeking help’’

‘‘After years of not making much progress using talking therapies, pharmaceuticals, meditation and many other treatments for developmental trauma, I was pretty much ready to give up on any hope of recovery. After reading works by Bessel van der Kolk, I decided (with some sceptisism) to give QEEG Nuerofeedback a try. I was amazed to find Karlene and Brainmapz nearby (no long drive to Perth!) so I booked in for a mapping. Karlene was very professional and clear about what QEEG was capable of. After eight QEEG sessions, it is like a light has switched on. And, more importantly, I am now able to switch some of the noise off. This is an incredible leap forward in mental health treatment. It is non-invasive, no drugs are used and you don't even have to say anything’’

“I started QEEG sessions with Karlene at Brain Maps in June 2021. The initial brain map showed me where my brain was having communication issues, including pathways associated with migraine and emotional states. We did 10 sessions with the swLORETA neurofeedback training program which began the process of rewiring my brain and helping it to function differently. In the Brain Map scan created at Session 10 it was clear to see there was a massive difference in brain function, especially in an area that was underperforming before.

I've continued my sessions (up to session #30 now) with Brain Mapz as I was seeing such a massive change in my brain function and a very significant decrease in migraine severity and symptoms (up to 80% reduction). This is such an amazing result and I'm so grateful to access this amazing technology and service so close to where I live (Yallingup). I notice how my brain neuroplasticity has increased, and I would recommend this service for anyone to assist the brain to stay young and adaptable.

Sessions are easy and simple to participate in, the environment is welcoming, and Karlene has a lovely, easy manner as well as a genuine desire to help people live better lives. Thankyou so much Karlene, my quality of life and brain function has improved dramatically.”

“I came to Brain Mapz with a diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer disease. The weekly Neurofeedback therapy sessions have helped with memory related tasks and function. Karlene is very professional about her approach, is caring and explains every step along the way.“

QEEG and Neurofeedback treatment has been absolutely life changing for me. After her treatment being recommended to me by a fellow healer who experiences bad migraines too I saw Karlene as soon as I possibly could. Very fortunately she lives just 10 minutes around the corner from where I live.
I have had extremely debilitating chronic and acute pain on a daily basis, including chronic migraines, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, spondylitis etc for over three decades. I had a number of bad childhood head injuries that went untreated and left me with nerve damage in my neck.

Before treatment, I was housebound and virtually bed bound too. From my first neurofeedback session, I experienced significant improvements in clarity, my ability to go out changed from almost never to at least two, sometimes more, times a week. I felt free again and my confidence and mood soared after just a few sessions.
The first very noticeable thing was being able to drive my car myself with complete confidence, clarity and automatically. Whereas before, I felt very shaky, unsure and really had to concentrate to drive. I had my freedom and independence back!

I still struggle with my symptoms understandably after over 30 years with them. However, my migraines and overall general pain after 9 months of seeing Karlene has definitely improved my situation hugely and given me a new lease on life that has changed my world, both physically and mentally, massively and permanently. Just getting to regular appointments with her has been a miracle for me. I could not be more appreciative and grateful to Karlene.

Another huge benefit is Karlene herself. She is so welcoming, has so much empathy, understanding and is so flexible for someone like me who has no idea how I'm going to be each day or even from hour to hour. I will be forever grateful to Karlene, the person who recommended Brain Mapz and the leading edge QEEG technology and brain training. I will keep seeing Karlene for as long as I can as the improvement in my symptoms has been absolutely remarkable and life changing for someone as debilitated as I was.
